SUGGESTIONS FOR SPENDING TIME IN THE PRAYER ROOM

  1. READING THE WORD OF GOD

We need to take time to read and study the Word of God.  We want to know and encounter Jesus as we read. We desire to know Him, His heart and what He is thinking.

On the road to Emmaus, two men were joined by Jesus. He was sharing with them who He was in all the Scriptures. They said, “Were not our hearts burning within us while He was speaking to us on the road, while He was explaining the Scriptures to us?” Luke 24:32  Oh, that our hearts would be so moved as He speaks to us from His Word.

  • ENCOUNTERING GOD THROUGH THE WORD

PRAY – READING THE WORD

First, we have to ask the Holy Spirit to open up our hearts and give us understanding of His heart and Word.

We can then use the following steps to grow in the knowledge of God.

Have the Holy Spirit highlight a word or a phrase of what you are reading.

Thank Him for this truth

Agree with His Word that He has highlighted. This will start transforming our hearts.

Ask Him to reveal more of this truth to our hearts.

Journal the things that the Lord has put on your heart.
