In Mark 11, Jesus taught in the temple that His House will be called a House of Prayer for all nations. What is a House of Prayer suppose to do to be called one? Let’s look at Revelation 5:8-10. John got the privilege of seeing Christ, as a Lamb, take the scroll out of His Father’s hand, the title deed of the earth. When He had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty four elders fell down before the Lamb. They were in awe and dread at the same time at His power, beauty and majesty. They each held a harp and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints. With adoration they worshiped the One that was slain. They were declaring what Jesus had done. His blood purchased for God every tribe and language and people and nation. He made them to be a kingdom and priests to God and they would reign on the earth. All nations are to gather to worship and fill the bowls with their petitions. As a priest, we are to minister to Him. Our desire should be to meet corporately, in the House of prayer, seek His face, to gaze upon His beauty and to dialogue with Jesus. (Psalm 27:4) All nations, people groups, in their region are to gather, fast and pray, so they can partner with God to contend for the Church. We are to pray for His Son’s bride to be passionately in love with Him. We are to intercede for the Church to walk in an increased measure of power, purity, humility and wisdom. That she would know her authority because of whose she is. We are to pray for the end-time harvest. The Church is to contend for His kingdom to come on earth as it is in heaven. His kingdom is to advance in the nations. The Church is to contend for the fulfillment of the promises of Israel. As we intercede the bowls will be filled and believers will experience breakthrough, healings, restorations, prosperity, salvations, and peace. This is what the Church does to be called a House of Prayer.
Come to the International House of Prayer on Thursday, September 5th, 4 – 8 pm. Come anytime and stay as long as you like. We stream in from IHOPKC Worship with the Word and intercede on the top of each hour.
